It’s safe to say that Cyberpunk 2077 didn’t live up to expectations, although it is still a really fun game.
A lot of the things that were promised in the game are missing, and CD Projekt Red has spent most of December scrambling to save its reputation.
January 2021 Patch
The next game update, patch 1.07, will arrive in January 2021.
This will be followed by a major content update in February.
These two updates are said to “solve the most important issues” with respect to the latest generation ports.
Release date
There is no official release date for the patch yet, just that it will arrive in January.

With CD Projekt Red in damage control mode right now, it would make sense for the update to arrive as soon as possible.
So it’s likely that the update will come in the next week or two.
Patch Notes
Update 1.07 does not yet have any formal patch notes, but we expect it to be significantly larger than the previous patch, Update 1.06.
Update 1.06 was an important update that addressed a number of issues.
The fixes include:
- Dum Dum will no longer disappear from the entrance to Totentanz for Second conflict.
- Improved memory management and stability, resulting in fewer crashes.
- Removed the 8MB backup file size limit. Note: This will not fix corrupted backup files before updating.
File size
Update 1.06 was 18GB, or roughly 1/3 of the total size of games.
1.07 should be even bigger as it fixes the majority of early game issues.
Free DLC
Cyberpunk 2077 DLC has been confirmed to arrive in early 2021.
There’s no official word on what the DLC will be, but CDPR has promised plenty of free content in addition to subsequent paid DLCs.
