A man was killed and a woman shot in the face and hospitalized after a shootout broke out near a second line in Central City on Sunday.
The shooting took place in the 2300 block of Josephine Street, where a 38-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:02 p.m., the New Orleans Police Department said. A 67-year-old woman was taken to hospital with a gunshot wound to the face.
The shooting took place outside the Olympic Young Men’s Clubhouse just as the second row they hosted ended on Sunday, and witnesses said people were fleeing the scene and the woman who had been shot was leaving in an ambulance.
Many details, including identifications, were not immediately available.
