A woman who was one of two people shot dead outside a Walmart in Lehigh Valley Friday night has died of her injuries, authorities said on Saturday.

Investigators did not immediately disclose the woman’s identity, pending notification from her family. They also did not indicate that anyone was in detention.

She died at 7:40 p.m. Friday at Lehigh Valley-Cedar Crest Hospital in Salisbury Township from a gunshot wound or injuries to the body, Lehigh County Coroner Eric Minnich said in a statement from hurry. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.

Minnich said he ruled the way from homicide to death.

Police were called around 6:55 p.m. over the report of shots fired in the parking lot of the Walmart Supercenter at 2601 MacArthur Road (Route 145) in Whitehall Township, according to a joint press release from the Lehigh County District Attorney on Saturday. , Jim Martin and Whitehall. Officers who responded found the woman and the second victim who had been shot near a vehicle parked in the parking lot with its engine running, the statement said. The second victim continued to receive medical treatment on Saturday.

The release did not describe anyone wanted in the investigation, which continues by Martin’s office and Whitehall Police, as well as the Coroner’s office and the Lehigh County Homicide Task Force.
