10 actors we want as Doctor Who’s next doctor after Jodie Whittaker

Jodie Whittaker is no longer a Doctor. Well she is actually very Doctor for the next year and a half, but with today’s shock announcement that she and current showrunner Chris Chibnall will be leaving Doctor Who by the end of 2022, we’ve come to the age-old tradition of dreaming madly about who could replace it (while completely ignoring how the BBC, and especially its budget, actually works).

Since the news broke this morning, we’ve asked the editors and editors of io9 and Gizmodo to come up with their own hopes and dreams for the 14th Doctor, whether they are Doctor Who diehards (me, Jill Pantozzi) or Whovian neophytes (pretty much the rest of the staff, it’s ok, there is too much tv to watch anyway). The following is our list, so, I don’t know, do what is fine Doctor Who do fans judge us harshly and talk about it loudly in the comments?
