Click on one of the links below to jump to a specific section of tips and tricks; I guarantee you that at the end of this page you will have learned at least one or two (and probably ten or twenty) new things. And if you scroll up and down, you'll find a list of all the other guides (over 50) in our Apex Legends series. Now, let's start!

Apex Legends Tips (Beginner's Tips: 1-25)

These tips are for beginners and cover some basic features and interesting aspects of Apex Legends.

  • 1. Apex Legends is an online multiplayer shooter of the latest generation. You and all the other players in your lobby go on the same card and have to loot and fight until there is only one team left.
  • 2. At the moment, Apex Legends is a game reserved for teams. You can participate in a single game or with up to two friends in your team, but if there is room in your three-player team, it will be populated with random players in your area.
  • 3. There are up to 60 players in each Apex Legends match (20 teams of 3). You can see the remaining players in the match by looking at the indicator at the top right of your screen.
  • 4. Season 1 of Apex Legends has started, bringing a new Battle Pass, a brand new character (Octane) and many more features to read in our Apex Legends Season 1 guide.

  • 5. Each match is divided into 8 rounds during which the Ring always contractual brings the players closer together. To learn more about how rings and rounds work, see our Apex Legends Guide.
  • 6. Apex Legends offers a fantastic and intuitive ping system that allows you to communicate non-verbally with your team by "interrogating" places, objects and enemies. Many players do not realize everything you can do with the Ping system. For more information, see our guide Aping Legends Ping / Communication.
  • 7. At the beginning of each match, you choose one of the eight characters (you can not choose the same character as one of your teammates). Each character has access to three unique abilities: a passive (always active), a tactic (activated on a short cooldown) and an ultimate (powerful ability activable but requiring a charge in time).
  • 8. There is currently only one map in Apex Legends, called King's Canyon, with 17 named places and tons of other large scattered areas. It's a smaller card than most royal battles, and you can easily cross it during a game.
  • 9. The loot is randomized at each match, with different locations with different levels of loot (visible at the top left of your screen when entering a new zone). These loot levels are random, but each area has a special preference for some loot levels. To learn more, check out our Guide to Apex Legends Maps and Places.
  • 10. King's Canyon is covered with horizontal and vertical zip lines that you can attach and slide to quickly cover distances. There are also hot air balloons that work like vertical zip lines, but if you reach the top, your rocket boots will be redeployed (as when landing at the beginning of a match) to help you cover great distances. .
  • 11. There is absolutely no falling damage in Apex Legends, so you can feel free to jump as far as you want. BUT! You can always fall off the map (which kills you instantly) and a landing after a long fall will cause a brief stun during your recovery.
  • 12. There are 20 different weapons in Apex Legends, you can read them all in our Apex Legends guns; but each weapon is only as good as the attachments you find and equip it. For more information on attachments, see our guide on Apex Legends attachments.
  • 13. Fire in the head deals more damage than bodyshots. The multiplier is usually either 1.5x or 2x depending on the weapon you are using. There are also 'legshots', which do less damage than body portraits.
  • 14. You can hit Melee in Apex Legends by pressing your melee button or by clicking the left mouse button (attack) without carrying a weapon.

  • 15. If your health is reduced to zero but your teammates remain standing, you will be "hit"; you can crawl, ping and open / close doors but you can not do otherwise. You can revive your teammates before they get empty by heading you to them and holding the Interact key. If they bleed or are completely killed, you can retrieve their banner in their dead booty and use it to reappear your lost teammate on one of the many Respawn Beacons on the map. For more details, see our detailed Apex Legends Resuscitation Guide.
  • 16. When you retire at the start of a match, one of you is the dedicated "master of jumps" that controls where you land all three. You can disconnect from your Jumpmaster at any time by holding "CTRL"; and you can still pass the Jumpmaster role to someone else before you retire if you wish.
  • 17. Apex Legends is focused on mobility. You can not only sprint, jump and squat, but you can also slide and climb walls and other obstacles. It is strongly advised to slip as often as possible, as it is often faster than sprinting and makes you a smaller target. Take a look at our Apex Legends Basic Movement Guide for more information.
  • 18. You can shove your weapon to run faster and climb higher than you can with a gun in your hands.
  • 19. Apex Legends is focused on team work. You are against other teams and you may die quickly if they find you alone. Stay together and focus on learning mobility and team combat.
  • 20. All characters have the same health pool of 100 health; but you can equip body shields to give you shields in increments of 25, up to a maximum of 100 shields (200 effective hit points).
  • 21. You can use various healing items and consumables to quickly recover your health and / or lost shields. It's good to learn the pros and cons of different types of healing elements. Check out our Apex Legends Healing Elements Guide for more information.
  • 22. Some types of equipment (body shields, helmets, protective shields and backpacks) are called "gear" and can be found in various rarities (from worst to best: white, blue, purple, gold). The same is true of weapon attachments. The higher the scarcity, the better the benefits of this article. Discover all the benefits of Gear and how helmets and shields work with our Apex Legends Armor and Gear guide.
  • 23. Backpacks increase the size of your inventory. It is important to ensure that all members of your team are equipped with a white backpack at least as soon as possible.
  • 24. Gold objects have unique advantages. For example, golden shock shields allow you to recover; and Gold Sights have the ability to highlight enemies through the smoke. Check out all the benefits in our Armor / Gear guide linked above.
  • 25. You can only hold two weapons at a time. When swapping weapons, the game will swap the weapon you currently hold (or have been last) against the new weapon.

Apex Legends tips (intermediate tips: 26-50)

Our mid-level advice is for those who know how Apex Legends works and have spent a lot of time doing it, but want to know how to get to the next level of combat and movement in King's Canyon.

  • 26. All Apex Legends characters have different sizes (see above), which means that some are much easier to touch than others. Wraith and Lifeline have the smallest boxes (the best), while Gibraltar and Caustic have the largest (the worst).
  • 27. During looting, you are vulnerable because you are not looking for nearby threats. The looting should be done as quickly as possible. Learn to never spend more than two seconds with each piece of loot or death box.
  • 28. Gold Gear is no better in terms of statistics than Purple Gear. A golden body shield gives 100 shields exactly like a purple body shield. The only difference lies in the unique additional benefit that each piece of Gold Gear confers.
  • 29. The knockdown shields can be activated by being knocked out to protect the area directly in front of you. Different levels of Knockdown Shield take different amounts of damage before breaking. The scrum or the execution of a fallen enemy will ignore his slaughter shield.
  • 30. Drag and drop is usually the fastest way to get around Apex Legends. To jump, just sprint to create a dynamic, then slide and jump to the end before starting to slow down. Rinse, repeat. Check out our Apex Legends Basic Movement Guide for more details.
  • 31. All characters move at the same speed. They only seem to move at different speeds because of the speed of their arm animations.
  • 32. You can use hot air balloons to land on one of the very high cliffs or rocks on the map (or land there at the beginning of a match); but you can not stay there long. A countdown will start telling you that you are too high and you have to go down. However, this leaves you about 20 seconds to look around and possibly get an advantage in the fights.
  • 33. The key to success in Apex Legends is to stay constantly moving. Never stay still, both at the micro and macro level. If you are done with one domain, go to the next one. If you are looting something, move from one side to the other in case an enemy targets you.
  • 34. Use context pings on a variety of different objects. Clinking a weapon or piece of equipment will tell your teammates what you have found. You can also ping enemies, supply bins, supply ships, ziplines and more. Check out our Aping Legends Ping / Communication guide for a complete list of possibilities.

  • 35. The most successful weapons at the moment are (without order) the Wingman Pistol, the Peacekeeper, the R-301 Carbine, the R-99 and the M600 Spitfire. Use the chart above as a guide if you still have an idea of your weapon's ranking and preferences.
  • 36. Listen for footprints, gunshots, and other audio messages that show nearby enemies. A good pair of headphones will help you with this.
  • 37. As a general rule, Apex Legends is a close-up game. Think twice before taking this long-term photo with the Longbow, because even if you hit, they will probably heal. Wait until you are close enough to cause real damage. This is something even more difficult for seasoned players.
  • 38. Make sure you have activated the damage indicators in the Settings menu. These numbers are color coded to indicate the bodily shield of the enemy. They will also light gold for a shot in the head, and you will also hear sound indicators when you shoot at the head or when you cross the enemy body shield; So keep your eyes and ears open.
  • 39. There is a ball drop and a drift in Apex Legends, but none of the cannons can be hit or damaged (except with Havoc's unique firing mode, which offers both). To learn more about all of this, check out Apex Legends Weapons / Gun Guide.
  • 40. Hop Ups are unique attachments that can only be inserted into specific guns. They often confer some very important benefits to this weapon, for example a fully automatic mode for the Prowler Burst SMG or a narrower gap for the Peacekeeper Shotgun. To learn more about them all, check out our Apex Legends Attachment Guide.
  • 41. The advantage in Apex Legends generally goes to the aggressor, to whoever will notice the other team first and initiate the fight. The use of a third party (getting into a fight between two other teams while both are distracted) is also extremely effective. If you find yourself in a difficult situation, focus on repositioning and healing. Do not engage in a fight that you can not win.

  • 42. Make a finisher to execute a stunned enemy by moving towards them and pressing your Interact key; However, this triggers a long animation that you can not leave, which makes you very vulnerable. As a general rule, do not bother with this, except in rare cases, as you can read in our Apex Legends Finishing / Operations Guide.
  • 43. Inventory management is an important skill to learn in Apex Legends. Carry only what you need and learn how many ammo you need for different weapons. Do not carry more than one shotgun shell for a peacekeeper, for example.
  • 44. While you are in your inventory, you can see the gear (Body Shield, Helmet, Backpack, Flip Shield) next to their names, in the lower left corner of your screen.
  • 45. Attachments are automatically attached to viable weapons when you retrieve them. This is very useful in most cases, but if for some reason you do not want to attach it automatically, simply use your Alternate Interact key (set the corresponding keyboard shortcut in the Settings menu).
  • 46. You can prevent doors from opening when you stand in front of them. However, they can still be destroyed with two melee or with explosives. You can also pull the handle of a door with a heavy ammunition weapon to open it from a distance.
  • 47. Although you must stay with your Jumpmaster master most of the time while landing (so that you do not get too far apart), you should detach yourself from it just before landing so that you can all direct you to nearby buildings and areas to loot more. quickly.
  • 48. If you ping something and fly over it, the user interface will tell you how many meters you are from that point. This is particularly useful when landing at the start of a match.
  • 49. If you are right above a landing site, you should simply let yourself down; but if the location is farther away, then you should use the drop technique. Learn how to hone your landings with our Apex Legends Landing Guide.
  • 50. The food baskets each contain three pieces of loot and always appear exactly in the same place every game. However, other forms of loot, such as booty and booty ticks, are random. The same goes for the Hot Zone and the supply ships, whose location corresponds to each match. Check out our Apex Legends Loot Guide for more information.

Apex Legends Tips (Advanced Tips: 51-75)

It is there that things start to become more specific and more obscure. Our advanced tips cover everything from special uses to advanced motion tips.

  • 51. Jumping right over an Octane launch pad will make you go even higher and farther than normal when bouncing.
  • 52. If you find Ultimate Accelerants, they should always, ALWAYS go to your team's lifeline, as Lifeline's Ultimate is the slowest ability in Apex Legends and provides the most consistent benefits to your team over the course of time. 39, a match.
  • 53. Fight around the smoke of Bangalore and the dome of Gibraltar rather than in the middle, so you can dodge every time you need to fight / recover.
  • 54. Learn to "spam A / D" effectively (dance during a fight and not stay still). If you move slowly or predictably, you are an easy target. Take this into account when practicing the target; learn to shoot effectively while dancing.
  • 55. You can make jumping jumps by jumping several times by sliding (jump every time you touch the ground). This is not as fast as the sprint, but it is best to use it during healing because it allows you to reach a much smaller and faster target while you are healing. For more information on making Bunny Hop, check out our guide to Apex Legends Advanced Movements.
  • 56. During (or just after) a fight, it is much more effective to trade your Body Shield against another less damaged one (such as a loot of death, for example) rather than heal it. Allows you to save time and healing items when you really need it.
  • 57. Helmets reduce total damage by bullet to the head, NOT additional damage by bullet to the head. I know, we've all heard it's the other way around, but it's not true. They reduce the total damage by 10% / 20% / 25%. Do not believe me? Check out our Apex Legends Armor and Gear guide.

Click on the image above to view it in higher resolution.

  • 58. The loot level of a venue is NOT fixed, and may change from match to match. It's amazing how few people know and how many others do not believe it. Although particular places are much more likely to be a specific level, they can sometimes change. Check out our Apex Legends guide and our guide to locations for more information.
  • 59. Use context pings in your inventory to request a specific type of ammo or attachment. You can also use it when you are in your healing menu to request some type of healing element. Check out our Aping Legends Ping / Communication guide for more details.
  • 60. Not all finishers take exactly the same amount of time. All last somewhere between 4 and 6 seconds, the Pathfinder Hi-5 takes the shortest time.
  • 61. As long as someone in your team is wearing the banner of your teammate, you can have one or the other reappear at a Respawn tag – it is not necessary that it be the one who picked it up.
  • 62. The time it takes to bleed is 90 seconds at first, but decreases to 60 seconds the second time you are hit. Respawning at a Respawn tag resets that.
  • 63. Contrary to popular belief, the effect of reducing Gold Backpack's healing time is not cumulative with Lifeline's passive ability. Only the 50% reduction of the backpack is taken into account.
  • 64. Tactical refills (reload when ammunition remains in your charger) are, for most weapons, faster than full refills (recharge when your charger is empty).
  • 65. You can crush yourself by standing at the top of the baskets when they open, if there is no place where you can be pushed. This is also sometimes the case for Lifeline's supplies and care package; both can crush you (not hit but all right) if you are under them while they land.
  • 66. Changing a weapon is faster than reloading, which means it's almost always better in close combat to switch to your other weapon to continue dealing damage rather than reloading. For tons of tips on the best loads and weapon combinations in the game, check out our Apex Legends Charging Guide.
  • 67. Jumping from the zipline of a hot air balloon before being at the top will not cause the rocket boots to go off again. You must let the game eject you from the top for it to activate.

  • 68. The passive movement speed of Bangalore is triggered when bullets are fired near you; you must not be damaged to activate it. This makes it very powerful to fill gaps in long-distance encounters.
  • 69. Use the Pathfinder Grab Hook to swing and move very fast over long distances, looking sideways and moving / barring while swinging.
  • 70. Neither Mirage's Passive / Ultimate tactical ability nor the tactical ability of Wraith makes you totally invisible when you use them. The mirage becomes an outline, while Wraith leaves blue traces quite easy to follow. So do not be fooled by enemies who lose sight of you when using these abilities.
  • 71. You often have time to heal even in hectic situations; it takes a few seconds and you can move while you are healing to give you even more time and security. A single treatment is sometimes enough to win a fight.
  • 72. Starting with the season 1 update, Pathfinder can tackle zip lines. To learn more about this and all other capacity changes, see our Apex Legends Update Guide.
  • 73. Each gun has a specific spray pattern that can be learned and adapted to (use the training mode to help you).
  • 74. Distance markers on long range extents are always accurate, EXCEPT if you have not changed your field of view in the Settings menu so that it is only 90. So, if your distance markers tell you bacon is the reason.
  • 75. Apart from the game, you can add command-line arguments to Apex Legends to perform certain tasks (for example, "-novid" stops playing EA and Respawn introduction videos when you load the game and "+ Cl_showfps 4" displays your FPS and Frame MS during games).

Apex Legends Tips (Expert Tips: 76-100)

Our expert advice contains all sorts of advanced, complex and obscure advice, whether it's exploitable issues or exploitable bugs, or strategies to end the fighting even before it's over. they do not start.

  • 76. Octane's tactical ability, Stim, will never take him below 1 VP, so you can not die using just Stim.
  • 77. You can block doors with Wraith's gates, so it's difficult for others to enter / exit. But you can still get through using your tactical ability.
  • 78. You can place the Gibraltar protection dome on the Lifeline drone, then push the drone to also move the dome.
  • 79. The Wraith portals last 60 seconds but there is no indication of this stopwatch. The solution? Check your ultimate charge level. At 39%, your portals will disappear.

  • 80. Double-pump (fire much faster) with the Peace Helmet while charging, then change weapons immediately and return to interrupt reloading. Watch the video above for a demonstration of this.
  • 81. Shot with hunting rifles. Do not bother aiming unless you are at longer spans (and generally do not use shotguns at longer spans anyway). It takes time to aim, and it does not offer many benefits for shotguns.
  • 82. Just before landing at the beginning of a match, level yourself to travel as horizontally as possible, then slide to the end. You'll gain a lot of speed, which is great for quickly navigating this extra little distance.
  • 83. Thermite grenades are the best friends of caustics. The damages caused by thermite over time add up with those of your Nox gas.
  • 84. Link your shooting key to the mouse wheel up (using the second shortcut key option), then use it with Hemlok to switch its shooting mode to automatic mode. in automatic mode without having to hide the left click of the mouse.
  • 85. If you have problems with Bunny Hopping, the problem usually comes from the fact that you forget to keep Crouch on the ground. But if that's not the problem, you can link Mouse Wheel Down to make it easier.
  • 86. If you slide while you activate your Mirage Tactical, your lure will also slide, which will make them more realistic and possibly fool your enemies longer.
  • 87. You should always perform jumps (melee and melee) rather than regular fights because the cooldown is faster and you can chain more melee in the same amount of time.
  • 88. You can slide back as fast as you can, allowing you to retreat quickly without leaving the enemy's eyes.
  • 89. The benefits of squatting when you change weapons (which interrupted the animation of your weapon change and allowed you to play / shoot much faster) is no longer part of the game from the start Season 1. So do not try, you will look ridiculous now.
  • 90. Bloodhound's tactics (Eye of the Allfather) are directional; it does not work in a sphere all around you, but in a cone where you look. So be sure to look in the right direction when using it.
  • 91. Bangalore Ultimate and Gibraltar Ultimate are quite similar, but Bangalore is better for zoning and defense (because it covers a much larger area), while Gibraltar is much better for offensive (because it explodes much faster).

  • 92. Wingman's recent nerve means that you are now better suited for ADS than shooting with the hip, whereas before, it was better to shoot with the hips because of the extreme accuracy and the fact that ADSing takes a little more time.
  • 93. The Precision Choke Hop Up Attachment for Peacekeeper and Triple Take will keep the gap tight for a short while, even after you stop aiming, giving you a small window in which you can move faster while still maintaining the tremendous precision of the starter. .
  • 94. A handful of automatic weapons does not have a gun stabilizer attachment (which reduces recoil), which means that the spray cycles of these weapons will always be the same. Take the opportunity to learn them to perfection (the pistols are the VK-47 Flatline, Havoc and Prowler).
  • 95. If you activate Bloodhound's Ultimate while on a zipline, there is no liquidation animation until Ultimate takes effect; instead, you transform instantly.
  • 96. If you time your scrum just as you land after a long fall, you will completely cancel the "stun" effect and continue to move without recovery time.
  • 97. Caustic traps can be fired at the base to destroy them without triggering gasoline.
