Just minutes after about 10,000 appointments rolled out in Riverside County, the site to get an appointment crashed. Users received an “Error” message shortly after being redirected to the state website. Some people managed to fill in their information, while others received the message directly after clicking on the “Register” link.
Viewers flooded News Channel 3’s phone lines and emails after people across the county waited anxiously to make an appointment.
Many were up on Saturday morning. The county announced that around 10,000 vaccination appointments would be scheduled at noon on Saturday. The county has since created a new webpage after the old system crashed on Thursday, just as 3,900 appointments were available.
According to a county spokesperson, once appointments are made available, the live links will be fed. Users would then be redirected to the state’s website, where they would enter their information and determine if there are any appointments available.
“I kept getting ‘error’ messages telling me that – it didn’t say the system had crashed, there was just an ‘off’ message,” said Patricia Finn, Palm resident Desert, after trying to make an appointment on Wednesday.
County officials addressed the issue at a briefing hosted by Supervisor V. Manuel Perez on Friday.

“Yesterday was obviously a tough day for us technologically. We were using a third-party vendor to run our vaccine website and the vendor’s process made some changes to address this and improve some past issues,” said Riverside County Acting General Manager. , Juan C. Perez.
The new website for registering for vaccines is www.rivcoph.org/COVID-19-Vaccine.

In Riverside County, people 65 and older can get the coronavirus vaccine, as well as adults of all ages if they work in education, law enforcement, food, and health. agriculture and emergency services.
This group constitutes phase 1B as part of the county’s vaccine distribution. People of all levels in phase 1A can also be vaccinated.
- For employees in Phase 1A and 1B – Level 1, an appointment and workplace employee badge / letter are required or you will not be vaccinated
- For those aged 65 and over, an appointment and ID are required.
The clinics will provide vaccines free of charge but information on medical insurance will be requested.
You must register and make an appointment to be vaccinated. If a person cannot present proof of eligibility or does not have an appointment, they will be refused.
