A group of firefighters worked late into the night to ensure the capture of an 11-foot alligator hiding in a Miami neighborhood, but for security reasons, the creature was euthanized.
The Miami fire team had noticed something strange when they returned to the train station, near 13th Street and 37th Avenue NW, shortly after 11 pm on Friday.
At first, the crew thought that the reptile was an unconscious person.

"By getting closer, they noticed that it was not a person, but an 11-foot alligator," said Captain Ignatius Carroll, of the service of Miami fire safety.
The resident of the area, Enrique Diaz, was among the residents who spotted the large reptile. When asked what he was going to say to his classmates when he returned to school on Monday, he replied, "Uh, guys? I think I just saw an alligator at home. "
