An 11-month-old girl died in Missouri after being locked in a hot car for about 15 hours, ABC News reported.

The baby was found Sunday around 16:30, said Chris Robertson, an officer at Calverton Park.

The car had been left outside a town house, about 14 kilometers from St. Louis. The temperature had climbed to 79 degrees that day, the network reported.

No arrests were made, but police spoke to two people of interest, Robertson said.

The child's grandmother said he found the baby inside the vehicle in his driveway, WITI-TV reported. The parents had left her in the car because everyone thought the other was carrying the child, she said.

KidsAndCars.org, a national non-profit organization, recorded a record 52 deaths among the hottest cars last year, according to ABC.
