Cyber Monday 2020 is officially here and in full swing, offering fantastic game deals and more from retailers like Amazon, GameStop, and more. But if you’re looking to buy the PS5 before the holidays, you’re probably more interested in when the PS5 is next restocking than in the latest discounts. With Black Friday in the rearview mirror, information on when the PS5 is next in stock is slim; however, camera and electronics store Adorama has confirmed to have PS5 bundles in stock at 8 a.m. PT / 11 a.m. ET today (Cyber Monday). It’s very soon, so get ready. However, it looks like the store will be accepting back orders, which means you’ll get the bundle as soon as they restock it.
To date, no other retailer has confirmed an upcoming restocking of the PS5; However, that doesn’t mean we won’t be seeing the PS5 at other retailers on Cyber Monday or in the near future. In a tweet, Sony confirmed that “more inventory will arrive at retailers before the end of the year.” Whether these PS5 restockings are announced ahead of time remains to be seen. So will we see the PS5 show up at Best Buy, GameStop, Walmart, or some other big retailer during Cyber Monday? Given the large number of people who shop online today, that’s a relatively good estimate. For now, here’s what we know about possible PS5 restockings at major retailers. When more information becomes available, we will include it here.
Where to buy the PS5 on Cyber Monday
PS5 replenishment at GameStop
GameStop’s PS5 in-store Black Friday-only stock went as planned, with dozens of people camping out of stores for a chance to get their hands on the new PlayStation console. We have no way of knowing what the stock looked like in every store, although one sign seems to suggest the PS5 would be the most difficult system to locate. In this specific case, it was only showing two PS5 systems in stock, but six Xbox Series X systems.
The situation at GameStop outside of in-person inventory is tough – a number of replenishments have increased on the GameStop website in the form of expensive console bundles, but they sell out pretty quickly. We have no knowledge of any upcoming restockings, but GameStop typically sends an email to its customers with notifications shortly before they go live. You will usually see the contents of the bundles in these emails as well. They contain things like extra games, controllers, and accessories.
PS5 restock at Walmart
Walmart restocked the PS5 mid-week during its big Black Friday sale, but the consoles sold out in two minutes. The PS5 listings now state that the consoles are “out of stock” at Walmart, and there is no information on when PS5 stock will be available. Walmart has kept all of its replenishments online only so far, so you likely won’t find the PS5 in Walmart stores this Black Friday. There may be a restocking before Christmas, but the store has yet to indicate anything. Cyber Monday could be the time to watch it.
Best Buy PS5 restock
Best Buy has confirmed that there will be no PS5 units in stores throughout the holiday season, so you will not see the PS5 in physical Best Buy stores until 2021. Although the PS5 will appear in Best Buy’s Black Friday ad, the retailer has not confirmed Black Friday availability to GameSpot and said the stock will be available on BestBuy.com when it gets more units. We also saw the stock rise without much warning before Black Friday, including in the middle of the night. Keep an eye out for yourself and you might be able to score one ahead of time. It may be available with an in-store pickup option if Best Buy’s recent Xbox restocking was any indication.
PS5 restocking at other retailers
PlayStation Direct has been running queues on its site almost every day since launch, but finding a queue on PS Direct doesn’t necessarily mean the PS5 is in stock; it just indicates high traffic to the store. It never hurts to jump in and wait if you find the queue and will be at your computer for a while, but be aware that there is no guarantee that it will be in stock at the moment when you will pass.
Of course, you can still find the PS5 and its accessories on reseller sites like StockX and Ebay. Resale prices at StockX are currently between $ 800 and $ 900, although you can place bids to buy the console at a lower price. The site has a lot of stock, so if you’re desperate it’s worth checking out if you can negotiate a decent price.
As expected, the scalpers took advantage of the situation by racking up the PS5 and selling it for hundreds of dollars more than their MSRP. All of the hoarding and reselling makes the ability of the average buyer to buy a PS5 before the holidays even more of a headache, so if you’d rather not put up with it, come back here.
