Project Activate
Android Police Coverage: Smile, because Android’s new facial gesture accessibility controls are official
Project Activate is a new application from Google designed to help people with disabilities communicate. This is mainly intended for those who cannot use their mouth or hands or speak, and therefore this app provides commands for facial expressions that the user will do to choose words and phrases on the screen. In this way, people with disabilities can communicate easily and best of all, this app makes it easier to send SMS and call because it also supports text to speech. With all of the deserved reviews Google gets in areas like search and YouTube, it’s great to see that the company can still create tools that improve people’s lives.

HelloSign, a Dropbox company
HelloSign is a digital signature service that has been around for a while, and DropBox purchased this service in 2019, which is why DropBox just released this brand new HelloSign app. As you can imagine, this is an application for requesting signatures in documents, signing said documents, and you can even add signature fields to your documents for an all-in-one solution.

FUNetix 12 hour reader app
The FUNetix 12 hour reader app is an older version, but seeing that it had just crossed my radar, I wanted to throw it in my weekly roundup of apps. This is of course an application designed to teach children to read, and it is completely free. No ads or in-app purchases, and the lessons are relatively straightforward, resulting in an intuitive app that every kid should be able to pick up and have fun with.

OpenSea: NFT marketplace
Consumerism has reached the point where we as a species are now creating tamper-proof digital content, all so that people can buy and sell content that cannot be copied. I don’t know why someone would spend money on images that can’t be copied because it all sounds like a huge waste of money for some ridiculous fashion, and yet someone made an app where the people can show their collections. OpenSea is described as a Marketplace, but there is no buying or selling as it is a social app for tracking creators and showcasing collections. Maybe I’m too old to “figure it out”, or maybe DFTs are completely ridiculous. I guess that’s for you to decide.

Samsung Health
Samsung Health is a new health app from Samsung that integrates with its Galaxy smartwatch line-up, all thanks to Google’s Fit option which doesn’t cut it for most users. That’s why TicWatch offers its own health app, so it’s no surprise to see Samsung cleaning up after Google as well. More or less, if you’re the type who wants to get all those wear sensors working in the Galaxy Watch 4, then you’re going to want to use this app to keep the stats of all those sensors well organized. So far this version seems to be incompatible with all my devices, although it has already racked up millions of installs, so most people will find this app preinstalled, although it seems clear that Samsung will update soon. this app through the Play Store.

Hand washing
Hand Wash is Samsung’s latest app exclusively for its Galaxy Watch 4 devices. As you can see, this is an app that can detect when you’re washing your hands, and it also offers reminders to wash you if you forget. Thanks to Covid, people will surely find this app useful, although you must laugh at the principle that people cannot remember something as simple as washing their hands.

Ready for
Ready For is a new version from Motorola for those who want to connect their phone to their PC to receive alerts and easily transfer files. Why every manufacturer feels the need to come up with hookup apps like this probably has a lot to do with a lack of functionality in the operating system, so manufacturers need to clean up Google’s mess in order to deliver acceptable functionality. and notable that should already exist as standards built into mobile operating systems.

MyASUS for Chromebook
MyASUS for Chromebook is a portal to all things Asus, and it only works on Chromebooks, so the name is apt. More or less, you can use this app to explore the latest Asus news, research new products, and of course contact support for help if an Asus product you own is suffering from unexpected issues. Best of all, you can even buy Asus products directly through this app, avoiding the middleman, a convenience that is well worth it.

Knox Settings VPN Plugin
The Knox Settings VPN plug-in is exactly that, a VPN plug-in for Samsung’s secure mobile platform, Knox. This appears to be an early release, judging by the description which reads like a developer commentary. More or less, this is for enterprise users on the Knox platform.

Live wallpapers
Chroma Galaxy Live 4K Wallpapers
Chroma Galaxy has a collection of live wallpapers, 20, to be exact, and they all look great. If you like what you see, you can pay to unlock the rest of the app, which means you’ll have over 250 live wallpapers at your fingertips in 16 separate categories. So far the reviews are positive and I have to say I agree. This is a fantastic live wallpaper app whether you use it for free or pay to unlock all of its abilities.
