OCEAN CITY, MD – Ocean City Beach Patrol said Thursday they believed a small sandbank shark bit a 12-year-old girl on the waves Monday. Beach Patrol drew the conclusion from an investigation in which they consulted the Department of Natural Resources. They said the bite pattern matches that of a sandbank shark, native to the area.
Jordan Prushinski was swimming near 119th Street in Ocean City on Monday and said he felt something sharp brush his leg. Jordan had 42 stitches for all 20 leg lacerations but is recovering.
