13 people rescued after boat begins to sink off Pompano Beach

POMPANO BEACH, Florida – A boat in the waters off Pompano Beach began to take on water on Sunday, and there were more than a dozen people on board.

Fortunately for these 13 people, everyone was able to get to safety.

It happened near Hillsboro Inlet.

A viewer of Local 10 sent a video to his cell phone of the boat as it sank, tilted to the side.

Coast Guard officials said they are still trying to figure out what happened.

A witness told Local 10 News that the boat rolled over on its anchor line, which put it under water.
