1795 Ohio barn has a new home in Swan Valley

SWAN VALLEY, Idaho (KIFI) – A sort of barn that climbs up into the Swan Valley in a beautiful setting along Rainey Creek. This will be barn house number two with them seated side by side for Michael Newman. Both houses are from Ohio barns that Don found while doing military work for many years in Ohio. He was still thinking about his land in Idaho. Wouldn’t these barns look great here?

“What do I really want to build here? I wanted something unique, one of a kind, and related to my experience in Ohio, Idaho. This is how I found these beautiful barns and how it all came together, ”said Michael J Newman, who is building the second barn.

It is specialized work. Some are handmade to bring the barn back to life. This is where the experts from the Antique Barn Company come in. They had the right barn.

“This is a very old barn in Ohio. I believe it was built around 1795, shortly after the American Revolutionary War. People were allowed to migrate west to Michigan, Illinois, Ohio, and another state, and the lands they claimed were called square agreements. It was in the original barn deed and because of the age of the wood you can tell it was first shoots, old shoots. It’s a very old barn in Ohio that’s quite special… 1795, ”said Donald Polaski with the Ancient Barn Company.

“The difference between old hand-cut wood and sawn wood is that it was a very nice hardwood. A nice thing to use for a barn / house conversion. It’s very rustic and fits perfectly into the historic Swan Valley area here.
