With the release of iOS and iPadOS 15 today, the popular 1Password password manager app released an accompanying update that brings its desktop-class extension to the iPhone and the iPad.
With iOS and iPadOS 15, Apple allows Safari extension developers to publish their previously exclusive Safari extensions for Mac to iPhone and iPad, allowing users to use extensions on all of their devices. 1Password was one of the first to tease support earlier in June, and with its latest App Store update today, it’s offering it to all users.
With its Safari extension on iPhone and iPad, 1Password users now have immediate access to all of their 1Password passwords and entries right in Safari, including on-page suggestions. 1Password for Safari uses machine learning on the device to automatically complete the sign-in process for complex websites and even auto-populate two-factor authentication codes.
On iPadOS 15, the 1Password extension is even more feature-rich, with a full user interface in Safari that “turbocharges any iPad”. 1Password with its Safari extension introduces other app enhancements and bug fixes. Users can read more about 1Password’s announcement on his blog.
