At least two Bishop Sycamore football players appeared to have been recruited by major college football programs as questions swirled over the legitimacy of the Ohio school.
The 24/7 Sports college football scouting website showed that at least two players from the school were recruited by major programs that play in the Football Bowl subdivision – wide receivers Armond Scott and Jeremy Naborne.

Scott was listed as having been recruited by Syracuse. He confirmed this in June by thanking the Orange for making him an offer. The tweet was appreciated by two coaches from Syracuse. Scott said he moved back into the class of 2022 when his age was asked online.
Naborne has been heavily recruited, according to 24/7 Sports. He reportedly received offers from Tennessee and TCU.
Naborne was on the list provided to the media for his match against Archbishop Hoban earlier in August. Scott was not.
High-level recruiting seemed to push back the idea that the school was “wrong”. Andre Peterson, principal and founder of Bishop Sycamore, emphatically told USA Today on Monday that the school was not a “scam.”
“There is nothing that I got out of that that would constitute it as a scam because I am not making any money from what we do. The reality is that I have a son (Javan) who is also in the program and has been in the program for four years, ”he said.
