The crews battled the smoke and heavy flames until they were finally able to contain the blaze.

The names of the victims have not yet been released and authorities are still working to determine the cause of the fire. MPs said the deaths were considered suspicious.

Michael Schadow, who lives in the neighborhood where the fire took place, said it was tragic to see what happened to his neighbor.

“We always walk around the neighborhood at night or early in the morning, so it’s really shocking to know if people have passed by and lost their lives,” Schadow said.

Schadow has lived there for decades and said the blaze was unlike anything he had ever seen.

“I’ve been here three years and I’ve never seen a fire like this,” Schadow said.

No further details were immediately available.
