BUENA VISTA, VA (AP) – Authorities say that an explosion at a Virginia gas station has killed two people and injured four others.
According to the Roanoke Times, Rockbridge County Fire and EMS chief Nathan Ramsey said the remains of two people were found in the rubble of the South River market, several miles north of Buena Vista. Their names had not been unveiled Friday night.
Virginia State Police announced that the explosion occurred Friday at around 9:50 am, spokesman, Sgt. Rick Garletts said the blast did not seem suspicious and added that the Rockbridge County Sheriff's Office had asked the state police to conduct an investigation.
Garletts said the police and fire crews had been working to report on those who could have been located in the building at the time of the blast.
