Two victims died in a shooting at a retirement home in Prince George County, Maryland on Friday morning, police said.

A suspect is in custody, police said.

The scene at National Church Residences – Gateway Village was secured, police said, adding that there was no continuing threat to the community.

“We heard a ‘pow’… I looked and saw his hand go up and he shot twice. And I just ran,” one woman said. WJLA affiliate told ABC Washington, DC. “I’m nervous now because my mother-in-law is still in the building during the lockdown.”

Prince George County surpassed 100 homicides for the year on Thursday night.
