Two people have died and a third is not expected to survive in Florida after authorities in Florida say a man went on a rampage with a baseball bat and knife.
Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd told a press conference that the suspect, Shaun Runyon, 39, was in Polk County, Fla. With a Pennsylvania power company working for Publix Supermarkets when a conflict at work prompted him to return to his accommodation rented by the company and attacked several people.

Police said Runyon hit a supervisor at work around 2 a.m. on Friday and fled. He was not seen or heard until around 9:45 a.m. on Saturday morning, when police received a report of a murder in Davenport, Fla., In a neighborhood where Runyon and his colleagues were staying with their employer.
Police say the 39-year-old beat a victim to death with a baseball bat as she slept in her bed, and a second victim was found dead on the porch. A third victim was severely beaten and is in hospital in “extremely critical condition”. A fourth victim was hit in the neck with a bat by Runyon but escaped. Three other victims, including a 7-year-old girl, escaped unharmed.
After the attack, Runyon fled and knocked on the door of a house in Lake Wales, Florida, covered in blood and telling the owners he had been raped. He then ditched his bloody clothes and went to the hospital at the owners’ suggestion. He was taken into police custody at the hospital.

Runyon admitted to knowing the victims but the police do not yet know a motive.
“We had no idea what had made him so outraged that over 24 hours later he would come back and attempt to kill them all,” the sheriff told media.

Judd added that Runyon had a criminal history in Pennsylvania, including a violent arrest related to a strangulation.
