More than 27,000 donors donated $ 2 million to the decorated US Navy who criticized his commanders for mismanaging the troop withdrawal from Afghanistan.
Lt. Col. Stuart Scheller took to Facebook Live in August to condemn his superiors for embarrassing the country in a number of videos that quickly circulated the internet. Scheller was then detained and placed in solitary confinement at Camp Lejeune for his actions.
Scheller’s parents, Stu and Cathy Scheller, spoke to “Fox News Primetime” on Friday to express concerns about their son’s well-being. According to Stu Scheller, the Marine Corps told them Lt. Col. Scheller could face “a long prison term”.

Fox News Primetime host Brian Kilmeade reported the average donation was $ 74, bringing the total to $ 1.8 million on Friday. That number has now exceeded $ 2 million. The fundraiser, organized by the Pipe Hitter Foundation, received financial support from veterans and US citizens.
Those who donated praised Scheller for his courage in speaking out.
“You represent honesty, integrity and character,” said donor Paul Kenyon. “You are a political prisoner. The USMC cares about how you are treated. I have resolved your courage. “
Kenyon donated $ 104.15.
Others condemned the military leadership in favor of Scheller.

John Habel, who matched Kenyon’s gift, called Scheller’s superiors “a shameful cabal of cowards who should all have resigned.”
“Stu, we are behind you,” Habel continued. “There are many more ‘patriots’ willing to sacrifice everything than the ‘yeas’ scrambling for leadership positions in a bogus administration.”
