AUSTIN, Texas – The Texas Volleyball number 2 opened the spring campaign with a straight-set victory over Oklahoma, 25-17, 25-22, 25-22 Friday afternoon in a non-conference game at Austin High School. The Longhorns remain undefeated, improving to 15-0 overall, while the Sooners fall to 3-10.
Logan eggleston led the way in Texas, recording 16 kills and reaching 0.419 in the game, while adding eight digs and three service aces. In his debut at Longhorn, Melanie Parra finished with 10 eliminations, while Asjia O’Neal and Molly phillips each finished with six wins each.
Jhenna gabriel distributed 34 assists and tied Eggleston with a co-team leading eight digs. O’Neil punctuated the Longhorns with three blocks, with Eggleston and Brionne Butler collect one each.
The Longhorns trailed 18-11 in the final set, but rallied to tie even at 20-20 before taking control of the game.
Texas and Oklahoma meet again on Saturday at 12 p.m. CT. Their match will be closed to the public.
