FARMINGDALE, NY – With 36 holes entered at the 101st PGA Championship, we seem to have a good idea of how the second major of the 2019 season will unfold. Brooks Koepka will remain at the top of the rankings as some of the world's best golfers hope he stumbles enough to allow them to try their luck and compete for the Wanamaker Trophy before the end of the action on Sunday. We will have a first look at this effort in Saturday's third round of Bethpage Black.
Jordan Spieth has seven strokes back on Koepka, but he is perhaps best placed to race while he's playing his best golf from the campaign to the present. Spieth, a three-time winner, is looking to compete in the slam of her career with a PGA Championship win, but Koepka and her stellar game will make it difficult. Adam Scott is right next to Spieth and Dustin Johnson is at a retreat from them. We could list the other stars at 2 cents, but when we remind them that it means that they are 10 behind Koepka, well, they probably need more than luck on their side Saturday.
