It's a lottery night in the NHL, and if it's a bit early to say, well, that's because it is. The league moved the preparation this year, giving up the usual slot as entertainment before the game in the first round to give the ping pong balls a night to themselves in the spotlight.

Fifteen teams are in contention, with odds ranging from Avalanche (via Ottawa) to 18.5% to Canadians at only 1%; you can find the odds of the 15 teams here. We spent most of the year looking at this as Jack Hughes draft, and he always seems to be going in that direction even as Kaapo Kakko made his way into the conversation. If you count Kakko as a second crucial opportunity at the top of the repechage, this makes tonight's lottery all the more important. Remember that the first three places are to be taken with the new format introduced in 2016.
