In less than an hour, the final game of the 2019 NFL preseason will begin, as the Minnesota Vikings and Buffalo Bills will occupy the field at Ralph Wilson Stadium in Orchard Park. Starters will not play in this one, but that does not mean that there will be no interesting things happening tonight.
Here's all you need to know about tonight's contest.
Time: Thursday, August 29 at 18 hours, central time
Location: Ralph Wilson Stadium, Orchard Park, New York
TV coverage: KSTP-9 in Twin Cities, and a host of other local affiliates in the Upper Midwest that you can see here. The NFL Network replay will begin at 3:00 am Central Time on Friday or approximately five hours after the end of the live broadcast.
Radio coverage: Vikings Radio Network, SiriusXM Channel 819 App
Line: Nope
Prediction: The score really does not make any difference, even if a pre-season of 4-0 would be pretty cool, I guess.
Three keys
1) No significant injuries – We know that the starters will not play tonight, but there will be key backups for the Vikings who will play at least a little bit. Let's hope the Vikings can get out in good health.
2) Can we get an idea of the situation? – We are about 48 hours from the final composition of the roster and we still do not know who will do the majority of the task force duties for this team. Austin Cutting is positioned as the long snapper, but we still do not know who will hit, die and stand for this team. Where is Kaare Vedvik in things? Will Matt Wile or Dan Bailey be unemployed in two days? Will Chad Beebe continue to be the owner? It's way too late in the pre-season to not have the answers to these questions, and hope we get an answer tonight.
3) Will the Vikings keep three quarterbacks? – It seems like Kyle Sloter gets most of the clichés for the Vikings tonight and has been one of the hot topics of conversation surrounding this team throughout the pre-season. Can Sloter present a strong enough record tonight to force the Vikings to retain three quarters of their teammates?
