We are at half-time at Ralph Wilson Stadium in Orchard Park, New York, and the Minnesota Vikings have a 10-3 lead over the Buffalo Bills.
The Vikings first played football, then Mike Boone ran 17 yards and Kyle Sloter made a 14-yard pass to Laquon Treadwell for the Buffalo territory, but the transfer was blocked. Matt Wile entered for the first kickoff of the evening, dropping him to the Bills' 8-yard line. The Vikings' defense got three shots on goal to start the match, and a bad Bills kick allowed the Violet to start for the second time in Buffalo territory.
Minnesota had a 23-yard touchdown pass from Sloter to Brandon. Dillon was dropped by Storm Norton, but the Vikings still entered the end zone with a 15-yard pass from Sloter to Ameer Abdullah! Kaare Vedvik managed the first extra point of the night and split the amounts to give the Vikings a 7-0 lead.
Former Vikings kicker Steven Hauschka scored on a 54-yard field goal on Buffalo's next attempt.
On their next trip, the Vikings again penetrated deep into Buffalo territory, but they had to settle for an attempted placement on the Vedvik field. His 37-yard attempt was wide right. . .way wide on the right.
After the Vikings' defense imposed its second hat-trick, Sloter launched his first NFL interception, while Lafayette Pitts shot him off the center of the field. However, the Bills were eliminated three times and the Vikings again pushed the field. Once again, their training stalled and the Vikings forced Vedvik to attempt another placement, this being another 27 riders.
And he did it. HE DID, ALL!
That gave the Vikings a 10-3 lead, and that's how we go into the locker room at half-time.
Sloter had a solid first game of football, completing 15 of 22 attempts for a total of 157 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Mike Boone's night seems to be over, as he carried the ball six times for 19 yards before giving way to De'Angelo Henderson.
The Vikings' defense was also solid, limiting the Bills to just 105 yards and 45 yards passing. They have not yet fired rookie quarterback Tyree Jackson, but the Bills have not done much to move the ball out of a drive.
Only half of the pre-season action remains, and the Vikings lead the Bills to Buffalo by a score of 10-3. Come join us for the last half of the preparatory action in 2019!
