2020 Fantasy Football Draft Prep: Busts 3.0 Features Fantasy Superstars Like Derrick Henry and Lamar Jackson

For Busts 3.0, before we get into the players I’m looking to avoid this year, let’s go over some of the bust contenders that have changed for me since the offseason started. These are players that I no longer see as guys to shy away from, whether it’s due to a change in average draft position or circumstances surrounding them or their teams.

In Busts 1.0 Stefon Diggs and Zach Ertz were listed as busts, but I would delete them now. This story was made before Diggs was traded to Buffalo, and his ADP is now doing well as WR26 at No. 69.4 overall on CBS Sports.

And while I don’t like Ertz as TE3 ahead of Mark Andrews, it’s hard to see him as a bankruptcy contender when you can draft him in round 4. When I wrote Busts 1.0 at the start of the offseason, I expected Ertz to be drafted in the third round, just past Travis Kelce and George Kittle.

In Busts 2.0, I’m going to remove Aaron Jones, Odell Beckham, and Courtland Sutton. With Jones, I expected him to lose a lot of value with the addition of second round rookie AJ ​​Dillon, but the lack of off-season work and the lack of preseason games should hurt Dillon and help Jones. He’s also being drafted towards the end of the second round, which is a good spot for a running back with his header.

Beckham’s ADP is the end of Round 4, and if it’s worth it, then it’s worth it as WR16. He was bad last year in Cleveland, but if he was healthy he should bounce back and produce as a top 15 fantasy catcher in all leagues. I would draft Beckham at the start of the fourth round.

And I initially had Sutton as an escape candidate before the NFL Draft, but I demoted him to a bust after Denver drafted Jerry Jeudy and KJ Hamler. However, with Hamler (hamstring) injured and not having a real offseason, as well as Jeudy, it’s hard to forget that Sutton is still a quality fantasy receiver. He’s also a potential steal as a WR24 at No. 65.9 overall.

That brings us to Busts 3.0 players, and ADP is the main reason I plan to avoid these players this season. Unless the price is right, I probably won’t have any of these guys on my fantasy teams this year.
