Control on the original PlayStation
Remedy takes us back to 1996 with a fun PS1-style Control gameplay teaser. You can watch the video here. Remedy posted the video with the following message:
“Starting today, you can play Control exclusively on the first PlayStation system. Here’s a short clip, courtesy of our lead gameplay designer, Tommi Saalasti, the driving force behind this port. ‘will like! ”
Value: Agents of Romance
Valorant’s official Twitter account revealed a novel visual novel called Valorant: Agents of Romance. It’s unclear whether or not this is a joke or a real game in progress, but we hope it’s real!

Since the supposed news is not on the official Valorant site or other Riot sites, we are calling this one a goof.
Valorant Patch Notes 33 1/3: The Latest Patch
A visual romance novel wasn’t the only thing Riot shared for April Fool’s Day. He also revealed a slew of interesting patch notes. Here are some of the highlights:
- Cypher now replaced by a Spycam
- “If the Spycam inadvertently uses guns, we figured it might as well go all the way.“
- Melee weapons replaced with toothpicks to better represent their hitbox

Overwatch Experimental Update
But what if Mei was a tank? Blizzard has posted an interesting set of Experimental Patch Notes on their Overwatch site that you can read here. Here’s an example of a change with some comments from interested developers:
D.Va Updates
“Developer Comment: The enemy team will often disrespectfully ignore Pilot D.Va. It will now be more difficult to survive a mech that has fallen on you. “
Call Mech
- Now deals 600 damage to enemies on impact
- Ultimate charge cost reduced by 30%
Bidoof takes control of Pokémon
Pikachu has been replaced by Bidoof on The Pokemon Company’s social media. Not only that, but there are a lot of Bidoof gifs, images, marketing emails with an image of Bidoof and even a fancam.

World of Warcraft update 9.0.5.0.5
The World of Warcraft team usually comes up with some sort of April Fool’s joke and this year they have chosen to post patch notes filled with references to memes and other media.
Here are some “coming” new features in World of Warcraft with Update 9.0.5.0.5. Emphasis on quotes.

- New dungeon: a mushroom
