The No.3 Ohio State will be even further shorthanded against No.1 Alabama in the College Football National Playoffs Championship. Buckeyes star running back Trey Sermon left the pitch for the locker room following his side’s three-time opening streak. ESPN reporter Maria Taylor said Sermon was then rushed to hospital for further evaluation and will be missed the remainder of the game.
Sermon’s injury status is not yet known, but he appeared to favor his left arm / shoulder as he left the field with team coaches. Taylor reported that he was unable to lift his arm. He had a 2-meter run and was injured on his only run.
Certainly losing Sermon is a big blow to the Ohio State offense.
