The NBA Draft is always a hotbed for trading, and 2021 is no exception. We’ve seen the Memphis Grizzlies and New Orleans Pelicans swap first- and second-round picks (with big men) before, and the Phoenix Suns got sniper Landry Shamet back from the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for a pick. first round. But they almost certainly won’t be the only teams active before and during Thursday’s draft.

Memphis likely has his eye on a prospect he believes would not be available at No.10 (some reports indicate it could be Aussie striker Josh Giddey), and may not be finished negotiating. Meanwhile, the Pelicans are freeing up all kinds of ceiling space as they continue to build around Zion Williamson and try to reach the playoffs. Our Jasmyn Wimbish gave New Orleans an “A” for the deal, while the Grizzlies received a B-plus.

The Golden State Warriors are also a team to watch before the draft. They reportedly bought their two lottery picks (Nos. 7 and 14) as they looked to return to the title fight. Additionally, there are a few All-Stars whose names have been mentioned in trade rumors: Damian Lillard, Ben Simmons, Russell Westbrook, and (as always) Bradley Beal. The Philadelphia 76ers are said to be increasingly likely to trade Simmons and are said to be on the hunt for the right partner right now.

We’ll be keeping track of every transaction before and during the project here, so keep checking to stay up to date on the latest transactions.
