2021 NFL Draft: Vikings to Pick 14th Place

[ad_1]

The National Football League regular season is officially on the books, which means the top 18 spots in the 2021 NFL Draft have been determined.

After the events of Week 17, your Minnesota Vikings will be selected in 14th place in the first round. The complete order of the withdrawals already determined is shown below. The numbers after each team are their record followed by the strength of their schedule. In the event that two teams are timed, the team with the weaker schedule receives the higher pick.

  1. Jacksonville Jaguars (1-15, .549)

  2. New York Jets (2-14, .594)

  3. Miami Dolphins (Houston Texans, 4-12, .541)

  4. Atlanta Falcons (4-12, .551)

  5. Cincinnati Bengals (4-11-1, .529)

  6. Philadelphia Eagles (4-11-1, .537)

  7. Detroit Lions (5-11, .508)

  8. Carolina Panthers (5-11, .531)

  9. Denver Broncos (5-11, .566)

  10. Dallas Cowboys (6-10, .471)

  11. Giants of New York (6-10, .502)

  12. San Francisco 49ers (6-10, .549)

  13. Los Angeles Chargers (7-9, .482)

  14. Minnesota Vikings (7-9, .504)
  15. New England Patriots (7-9, .527)

  16. Arizona Cardinals (8-8, .475)

  17. Las Vegas Raiders (8-8, .539)

  18. Miami Dolphins (10-6, .467)

As for the rest of the choices:

  • Selections 19 to 24 will be filled by teams that lose the Wild Card weekend
  • Selections 25 to 28 will be filled by the losing teams in the division round
  • Selections 29 and 30 will be filled by teams that lose the Conference Championship Games
  • Pick 31 will be filled by the team that loses the Super Bowl
  • Pick 32 will be filled by the team that wins the Super Bowl

For anyone still salty that the Vikings had the nerve to win on Sunday, with the way other games have gone, the Vikings beating the Lions on Sunday “cost” them exactly two places in the draft. If Minnesota had lost and all other results stayed the same, they would pick 12th.

Yeah, that’s okay.

We will update the order of the draft at the end of the qualifiers. For now, however, the Vikings are expected to pick 14th place in the first round.
