21 injured during the collapse of the bridge during a Jersey Shore firefighters operation

At least 21 people were injured when no fewer than two bridges in a residential building on the Jersey Shore collapsed on Saturday, according to hospital officials and NBC Philadelphia.

The collapse occurred at the 142nd Annual Convention of the New Hampshire State Firemen's Association.

Twenty-one patients were taken to the Cape Regional Medical Center, spokeswoman Susan Staeger said. Two of the wounded were transferred to a trauma center, she said.

Three were under 18, Staeger said. The miners, with at least 12 other people, were treated and released, she said.

NBC Philadelphia reported that firefighters participating in the rally were among the people being cared for.
