3 fired, one fatally, at the Fort Lauderdale bar; suspect arrested

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) – Broward County police said three people had been shot dead, including one fatally, at a bar in a mall.

Fort Lauderdale police spokeswoman Casey Liening told the Associated Press that police responded to shots fired inside the Blue Martini at the Galleria Mall at 23:51. Wednesday.

She says that one person died on the scene and that the other two victims were transported to a hospital. Their conditions were not known immediately.

According to Liening, the unidentified suspect is in police custody and the police believe that the shooting "arose as a result of an altercation inside the establishment".

The investigation is ongoing.
