Three new Democratic senators are expected to be sworn in after President-elect Joe Biden is inaugurated on Wednesday.

The arrival of Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff from Georgia and Alex Padilla from California will give Democrats a working majority in the Senate – split 50-50, with new Vice President Kamala Harris as the deciding vote.

A person who was granted anonymity to discuss the planning told The Associated Press that Harris is close to being sworn in to the Three Democrats after being sworn in during the nomination as vice president.

Warnock and Ossoff defeated Republican Senators earlier this month. Georgia’s state secretary is expected to certify these results on Tuesday.

Padilla was asked by the Governor of California to serve Harris’ remaining term in the Senate.
