The future of Aaron Jones was one of the main talking points for the Green Bay Packers last season. Jones was drafted by the Packers in the fifth round of the 2017 draft. During the first two years of his career, Jones suffered from injuries and limited playing time.
Jones started his 2017 season not playing much in his first three games. It was in Week 5 against the Dallas Cowboys where he first entered the scene. In that game, Jones racked up 125 yards and one touchdown on 19 carries.
It didn’t take long for him to have another great game, two weeks later against the New Orleans Saints, Jones once again crossed the milestone of the century. He rushed for 135 yards on 17 carries and also found the end zone.
After that his 2017 took a downward spiral as he has never received more than five runs in a match he played. Jones also missed two games with an MCL injury. Fast forward to 2018 and Jones would miss the first two weeks of the season due to a suspension.
The 2018 season was when people really started to demand that Jones be the feature film. He was receiving more portages than in 2017 but still divided them a little. Jones would only end the season with 12 games played as he would miss the last two games due to the same MCL’s injury.
Aaron Jones really broke out in 2019 going over 1,000 for the first time and became a double threat RB. At the end of 2020, Jones missed two games but still had a great year. However, the writing may be on the wall for the RB star as her price range and Green Bay’s ceiling space appear to be in two different places.
