HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) – Three workers were killed Friday night when a car got out of control as it fled from police in west Houston.

This happened around 10:30 p.m. in the 6200 block of Fairdale at Fountain View Drive.

The driver of the involved vehicle was spotted by officers making donuts in a parking lot as they attempted to stop them, according to Houston police. That’s when the driver took off and then lost control, entered a ditch and crashed into the trio, described by authorities as valets working at a nightclub.

“One person decided they didn’t want to get a ticket or go to jail,” said Sean Teare, head of the Harris County District Attorney’s Office for Vehicle Crimes. “We are talking about three people who had just come to work here. They were doing their job, coming back from parking cars to get more cars. something like that.”

The driver and a passenger of the vehicle were both taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators were at the hospital to determine if the driver was intoxicated at the time of the crash.

Teare said the driver could face murder charges.

There was no word on the identity of the victims or the suspect.
