A missing 3-year-old Texan boy was found in the woods miles from his parents’ house, three days after he went missing.

Christopher Ramirez was last seen by his family on Wednesday when he chased a neighbor’s dog into the woods around 2 p.m. as his parents unpacked their food truck.

The dog returned, but Christopher never did, prompting local agencies, Texas EquuSearch and the FBI office in Houston, along with volunteers, to conduct a major search.

Christopher was found around 11 a.m. on Saturday “a little dehydrated, hungry and overall in a good mood and in good health,” Grimes County Sheriff Don Sowell said in a statement released on social media Saturday night.

It was not yet clear exactly how the toddler survived on his own.

He was recovering at Texas Children’s Hospital in Woodlands “with his mother by his side”.

The man who found him, who chose to remain anonymous, told the sheriff that God told him the day before during the Bible study that he would find the boy if he went looking.

“The kind and humble citizen who found Christopher was indeed a special Guardian Angel who was in the right place at the right time. He’s a humble and kind man who didn’t want his name mentioned, ”Sowell said.

“I had several good visits with him and thanked him for being there. He replied that God told him last night in Bible study to go find him and that he would find him. This morning the man did just that and the rest is a happy ending to this story.

Texas EquuSearch founder Tim Miller told KHOU he was ready to abandon Christopher’s desperate search.

“In my 21 years with EquuSearch, this is only the second time we’ve had a kid like this. Today, this morning Sheriff, I honestly gave up,” Miller said. “But God works wonderfully, I have goose bumps. He works wonderfully. To see him and hear that loud cry, sheriff, it was just amazing.”

The Texas EquuSearch team is looking for Christopher Ramirez, who will soon be found alive in the woods after his disappearance.
