30-minute UAV delivery to come: FedEx rushes to surprise Amazon

The Wall Street Journal announces that FedEx will deliver packages 7 days a week.

"Online shopping lasts seven days a week," said Raj Subramaniam, president and chief operating officer of FedEx, during an interview. "There is therefore a growing demand from online shoppers and e-commerce senders for a seven-day service."

The parcel giant, which has only recently added ground deliveries on Saturday, plans to offer residential delivery within seven days in the US next year to better capture the growth of e-commerce.

Fast target

What is it? In competition with Amazon.

For two years, users were able to get many items in one night with Amazon Prime. The number of items available for overnight delivery has skyrocketed.

FedEx has been forced to compete, but Amazon is a fast-moving target.

Delivery by drone of 30 minutes to come

Please consider that Amazon's drone delivery program is "Take Off".

Today, at Amazon's MARS conference (Machine Learning, Automation, Robotics and Space) in Las Vegas, they unveiled their latest Prime Air drone design.

Amazon has worked hard to build fully electric drones capable of traveling up to 15 km and delivering packages of less than five pounds to customers in less than 30 minutes.

In addition, thanks to its world-class distribution and delivery network, Amazon hopes to upgrade Prime Air both quickly and efficiently by delivering drone parcels to customers within a few months.

A flawless stay

Latest features of the drone

  • The hybrid design can perform vertical takeoffs and landings. It can also switch from vertical mode to airplane mode and return to vertical mode.
  • It can detect both fixed and moving objects, while automatically avoiding power lines.
  • It is independently safe. It will not fly in a wall, even if you are asked.
  • Sophisticated AI algorithms are trained to detect people and animals from above.
  • Solar energy charged. Amazon's vision is that 50% of all shipments do not emit any net emissions by 2030.

Amazon, a boon

Every day, I see tweets from people criticizing Amazon for reasons of salary, taxes, closing the company.

It's perfect.

The ideal corporate tax rate is zero, so do not blame Amazon.

If Amazon removes the business, that's also a good thing.

Everyone will have deliveries in a few hours instead of several days. How is this not a good thing?

Quality of life

Amazon improves the standard of living. Competition in general does it too.

Sorry mom and pop, the campaigns to save the local bookstore have no economic meaning.

Companies that can not compete are bankrupt, regardless of their activity.

We should all encourage Amazon.

American innovation

Please note which country has produced Amazon, Google, Uber, Microsoft, etc., etc.

Despite serious economic problems, the United States remains the world leader in technology.

Why?

The rules and regulations of the EU are stunning. In the name of "equity", the EU would divide Amazon, Google and Microsoft.

China is also lagging behind. Directed economies that do not have strong property rights nor allow freedom of expression will outweigh the major economies that have them.

Forget China

All that Peter Schiff and other US critics have to say about the dollar's death, hyperinflation, China's superiority over the United States and the loss of the reserve currency by the states United is total idiocy.

Wake me up when China floats the yuan, allows freedom of expression, has strong property rights and has the largest bond market in the world.

Until then, the critics of the United States must put an end to this nonsense.
