Alleged specifications for NVIDIA’s Ampere Refresh for desktops, also known as the GeForce RTX 30 SUPER, have been revealed by Kopite7kimi. The leaker is well known and has been specific on several leaks in the past, in fact even SKUs that failed in the retail segment have ended up showing up in one form or another.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 SUPER Desktop Graphics Card Line Gets Inferred Specs – Includes RTX 3090 SUPER, RTX 3080 SUPER, RTX 3070 SUPER, and RTX 3060 SUPER

The problem with these specs is that NVIDIA is still testing various configurations for new SKUs. Sometimes these SKUs emerge while sometimes some SKUs are replaced by others. It all depends on the production, supply and performance of the GPU. With the GeForce RTX 30 line of GPUs, we have seen several Ampere references planned but never released.

This does not mean that the previously reported SKUs were fake, they were very real but they were never used for an appropriate release and have been forgotten. NVIDIA shares plans with its AIB partners of these SKUs and even shares card supplies and some qualifying chips with them. This is how the never-designed 20GB 3080 Ti ended up in a Russian point of sale. So keep in mind that these are possible SKU configurations that we might see in the next RTX 30 SUPER range, but not yet “confirmed”. NVIDIA even ended up changing specs weeks before launch for a few cards, so they could change as we get closer to launch.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 SUPER “Inferred” Specifications

First up we have the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 SUPER and we expect it to be a Titan class card again. Kopite says he doesn’t think NVIDIA will use the 3090 SUPER naming convention and go for something else given that this is one of their top products. As for the specs, 3090 SUPER is expected to rock the full GA102 GPU core with 10,752 cores and 24GB of GDDR6X memory. Memory will be faster thanks to Micron’s improved matrices, pushing speeds beyond 20 Gbps. The price may stay the same at US $ 1,499 (MSRP), but overall we are looking at a minor improvement of 5%.

NVIDIA Ada Lovelace AD102 GPU is reportedly as high as 2.2GHz and a 384-bit GDDR6X bus, over 80 TFLOPs on a 5nm process node

A previous rumor also stated that the GeForce RTX 3090 SUPER graphics card would have a TGP of over 400W. That’s 50W more than the existing 3090, which means we could consider faster clocks on GPU and VRAM.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 SUPER “Alleged” Specifications

For the GeForce RTX 3080 SUPER, NVIDIA should use 70 SM for a total of 8960 CUDA cores. Now there are rumors that a GA103 GPU has been around for some time now and the RTX 3080 SUPER might end up using it, but we can’t say for sure. The card will feature 12GB GDDR6X memory along with a 384-bit bus interface and will also feature faster DRAM modules.

The card appears to be positioned between the RTX 3080 and RTX 3080 Ti with a 3% increase in core count compared to the Non-Ti variant. It will be nice to have 2GB of extra memory compared to the 10GB of the Non-Ti variant, especially if it is priced at US $ 699 (MSRP). In terms of performance, the card will be slightly below the 3080 Ti (say around 95% performance). If this is true, the RTX 3080 Ti would make very little sense to buy since the 3080 SUPER will deliver similar performance for US $ 500 less. The card will be positioned against the AMD Radeon RX 6800 as it is the main opponent in this segment.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 SUPER “Alleged” Specifications

Upgrading to the GeForce RTX 3070 SUPER, it’s going to be a slightly less interesting part as NVIDIA only plans to update the card to the faster GDDR6X memory while keeping the base specs such as the 5888 CUDA cores. Again, this would push the card little in terms of performance, but it could end up coming close to its Ti counterpart, the 3070 Ti, for a lower price.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 SUPER “Inferred” Specifications

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 SUPER might be the biggest upgrade in the SUPER line. It was the same with the RTX 2060 SUPER which saw an indispensable core and memory memory. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 SUPER is expected to offer better specs than the RTX 3060 Ti with 5632 CUDA cores in 44 SM units and 12 GB of GDDR6 memory. So you get 4GB more memory compared to the RTX 3060 Ti, as well as 16% more CUDA cores, which could lead to performance comparable to a GeForce RTX 3070 graphics card.

NVIDIA can also keep the same price at US $ 399, as that would be very competitive against AMD’s Radeon RX 6700 XT and RX 6600 XT graphics cards which cost US $ 479 and US $ 379 respectively. Again, these are the specs we have so far of a reliable leaker, but based on previous leaks these could change as well. The RTX 30 SUPER range is expected to be introduced by the end of this year or early in the first quarter (most likely during CES 2022).
