$ 350 Million Dolly Parton: Country Star Has Raised Wealth From Publishing Rights And Amusement Park

And Dolly Parton has built an estimated fortune of $ 350 million from her extensive catalog of publishing rights and her own theme park in Tennessee that she co-founded 35 years ago.

The 75-year-old icon continues to bank on his business acumen after signing a deal with IMG in 2019 to expand his brand to consumer products after an already successful career spanning decades.

Forbes revealed that Dolly’s greatest asset is her theme park in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, which she co-founded in 1986.

The amusement park is the largest paid tourist attraction in the state and represents almost 4,000 jobs, making it the largest employer in the community.

The publication also estimated that Dolly’s music catalog alone “accounts for a third” of her $ 150 million wealth.

Its library of more than 3,000 song credits – including Jolene and 9 to 5 – is expected to bring in between $ 6 million and $ 8 million a year.

“I’ve owned my own publishing house for years, and as an active songwriter I still write all the time,” Parton said. “It is very possible that for business, estate planning and family reasons, I will sell the catalog that I currently have. I’ve thought about it a lot, and I’m sure I could make a lot of money for it. But then I’d start a whole new one, keep writing songs, and when I rebuilt it, sell it.

“I imagine I would have quite a bit of money if I wanted to sell, but I would still have some control no matter who I sold to, and my song credit. There is a lot to be said about this. As a songwriter, I never cared about money. I made some money, but I always wanted my name to appear on my songs. ‘

Dolly was revealed to have contributed $ 1 million to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee, for coronavirus research in April, after the hospital was “good for her and her family over the years.”
