DETROIT (FOX 2) – Hundreds of thousands of DTE Energy customers are without power Wednesday afternoon as severe thunderstorms sweep through southeast Michigan.

At 10:30 p.m., DTE Energy reported 382,499 breakdowns and indicated that 1,735 teams were working in the field.
Severe thunderstorm warnings were issued for the area as storms penetrated the Detroit metro area. This is only the first round of storms as another round will be there after dark on Wednesday night.
Reports of storm damage arrived from Troy to Monroe with downed trees in our area.
