The official trailer for Game of thrones Season 8, episode 3 did not reveal much, but an enlightened version ruined an important detail. We know where all the human characters will be when the Battle of Winterfell breaks out, but we can also know exactly what the two remaining Daenerys Targaryen dragons will do when the fighting begins.
This spoiler is offered by redditor u / spacelyyy989, who shared an illuminated GIF of Game of thrones Preview of Season 8, Episode 3, presenting the undefiled army preparing for battle. In the upper left corner you can barely see Drogon and Rhaegal flying above your head.
The fact that the two remaining Dany dragons are out during the battle is not a surprise, although we did not expect to see them so early. Official images of the next Game of thrones Jon Snow and Dany have positioned themselves northwest of Winterfell, presumably waiting for the king of the night to strike to pursue him. We assumed the dragons would be with them, but maybe that's not expected.
Drogon and Rhaegal also seem to be flying out of the box, perhaps pursuing something else that we can not see. Could it be about their brother Viserion become a dragon? It's a bit exaggerated, but if that's what happens, then maybe Bran Stark's plan to catch the king of the night actually works.
Again, the fact that the Unsullied are still standing suggests that the battle has not started yet. Most likely, we are witnessing one of the first moments of Game of thrones Season 8, Episode 3 where the two opposing armies align to attack. So maybe the dragons are just here to intimidate the White Walkers and the Wights.
As for whether Jon and Dany ride the dragons in this clip, there's really no way to find out, but it's possible that they can jump on the dragons to quickly settle on the hill where they can be found in the official images of HBO Episode 3. (Side note: Why do not any of them wear armor ?!)
Another question that is worth asking is why HBO ignored this detail in the first place. It does not seem to be really surprising that dragons are flying before the start of the fight, although this may prove more important than expected.
Of course, it is also possible that the last Eu The trailer simply succumbed in the much darker palette of season 8. Many fans and critics have noted that the recent episodes seemed particularly sad, mainly because of the focus on lighting naturalist in a show that is now taking place in winter.
We simply hope that when Winterfell's Great Battle finally arrives, it will at least be bright enough to distinguish those dragons that have engulfed the budget of the series as part of the series. Otherwise, Cersei is going to be really upset by his missing elephants.
