A deadly tornado ripped apart Saturday night in parts of El Reno.

The rescue teams had been working since the first reported damage at around 10:40 pm. Saturday near Highway 81 and Highway 40.

El Reno Mayor Matt White announced that two people had died as a result of the storm and that 16 others had been injured.

White spoke with News 9 at the scene and asked people to let the first responders do their work while they were deploying relief efforts Sunday morning, but he asked them to "pray for us" and " pray for El Reno ".

White will give an update at 9 o'clock.
