Seattle police report the arrest of four people following an Antifa New Year’s Eve attack on local businesses near Cal Anderson Park. The attackers vandalized belongings and set off fireworks at a youth service center.
The Seattle Police Department tweeted a report that four people were arrested following a New Years Eve protest in the city’s eastern neighborhood, which left several businesses vandalized.

Officials said a group launched a protest at Cal Anderson Park around 8 p.m. on New Years Eve. The park was the scene of a recent sweep by city officials to clear a homeless camp. .
Police officers arrested one of the protesters after he allegedly vandalized a business. The man reportedly had fireworks and a glass beverage bottle filled with gasoline in his possession at the time of his arrest. Another man threw frozen eggs at police, officials said.
A little over two hours later, workers at the King County Youth Service Center reported that protesters attempted to break into the facility. When the officers arrived, the group attempted to flee. Officers arrested part of the group for obstruction, the report continued.

Additional arrests following an attack on the eastern sector. In addition to smashing the windows of a business, the vandals burned a flag and blocked an intersection. Police declared the gathering illegal.

KOMO reporter Jonathan Choe tweeted that local businesses were fed up with “black block marchers destroying the city”. A cafe owner said his businesses were being targeted “just for trying to improve the neighborhood.
