BUENA VISTA, Va. – Four authorities have been hospitalized as a result of an explosion at a gas station. The police are trying to determine if there may have been other victims.

Virginia State police said the blast occurred Friday at 9:50 am at the South River market, several kilometers north of Buena Vista in Rockbridge County.

Sgt. Rick Garletts of the state police said in an email that the blast did not seem suspicious, adding that the Rockbridge County Sheriff's Office had asked the state police to investigate. .

Garletts said the police and fire crews were working to report on those who could have been located in the building at the time of the blast.
