Four NFL teams remain less than 50% vaccinated less than two weeks after training camp begins, a person familiar with vaccination rates told The Associated Press.

In a note sent to clubs last week and obtained by the AP on Thursday, the NFL, working with the NFLPA, updated protocols to allow teams going to joint practices to have their daily maximum of individuals Level 1 and Level 2. The travel group will be either 100 or 140, depending on the club’s vaccination percentage. The club must limit the number of people traveling with team transport to 85, but may travel separately from additional Level 1 and Level 2 personnel up to the applicable level daily limits to attend practice.

In addition, from the start of training camp, teams will need to develop a method to visually identify fully vaccinated Level 1 and Level 2 individuals.

The use of bracelets or color-coded credentials is recommended, but clubs are free to implement other methods.

Last month, the NFL and the players’ union updated protocols to ease restrictions for fully vaccinated players and to encourage others to get vaccinated.

Unvaccinated players must continue to undergo daily testing, wear masks and practice physical distancing. They will not be allowed to take their meals with their teammates, will not be able to participate in media or marketing activities during their trip, will not be allowed to use the sauna or steam room, and will not be able to leave the team hotel. or interact with outside people while traveling.
