4 p.m. winter weather advisory for parts of metro Detroit: snow spells today

[ad_1]

STRAIT – Snow has been moving across Southeast Michigan since about 2 a.m. Tuesday, and we will have periods of snow during the day.

The most consistent snow will fall north of 8 Mile Road, with less additional snow during the day south of there. In fact, parts of Lenawee and Monroe counties might even see freezing drizzle.

Overall, it looks like most of Lenawee and Monroe counties will see less than an inch of snow, from I-94 to M-59 / Hall Road probably around two inches, and north of M-59, probably three to four inches since you will receive the longest snow.

Like yesterday, I put my forecast for specific snow amounts in your area in the 4ZONE forecast, which you can easily see for yourself on ClickOnDetroit.com and on our free Local4Casters weather app.

The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory until 4 p.m. Tuesday for areas generally south of M-59, and until 11 p.m. for areas generally north of M-59.

Temperatures today will only increase by a few degrees, perhaps almost to freezing (0 degrees Celsius), with a northeast wind turning north at 10 to 15 mph.

Sunrise today is at 7:52 a.m. and sunset today is at 5:40 p.m.

The snow subsides Tuesday evening, with lows ranging from the low to mid-1920s (-5 degrees Celsius).

Rather cloudy on Wednesday, with highs in the upper 1920s (-2 to -1 degrees Celsius). Becoming partly cloudy and much colder Wednesday evening, with lows in the low to mid teens (-11 degrees Celsius).

Partly cloudy Thursday and Friday, with highs in the mid-20s (-4 degrees Celsius), and lows Thursday night again in the low to mid-teens (-11 degrees Celsius).

There are a few changes offered by the computer models in terms of handling our next storm, and the biggest change is slowing it down. I now think we will be dry on Saturday, with more and more clouds in the afternoon. Highs in the upper 20s (-2 to -1 degrees Celsius).

Sunday looks cloudy, with maybe snow late in the day. Highs within 30 seconds (0 degrees Celsius).
