The Florida State Seminoles landed a top notch wide receiver Destyn hill the day of the national signature. The 6-foot, 200-pound wide receiver from New Orleans, Louisiana made it official this morning by announcing his decision at a ceremony in New Orleans, La. Edna Karr and immediately signing with FSU.
“Without further ado, for the next three or four years, I will be attending Florida State University,” Hill said at the ceremony, where he also thanked his family, friends, teammates, coaches and others.
Hill chose the state of Florida from more than a dozen offerings, including Alabama, LSU, UF, Oklahoma and others.
Hill is the nation’s 19th wide receiver and 113th best prospect overall, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. His main recruiters at FSU were the assistant coach David johnson and offensive coordinator Kenny Dillingham.
Former Director of Scouting 247Sports, Barton Simmons, weighed in his assessment of Hill:
Lean but defined wide receiver with sufficient length and size to be an effective long-term external threat. Has the ability to beat press coverage with quick feet and effectively stacks defensive backs. Shows some versatility and road racing feel. Extremely productive at the secondary level. Downfield efficiently and win in contested situations. Good not great athleticism. Not a natural hand catcher. Not active enough with his hands in his release. Doesn’t exhibit any dominant skills yet, but quite possibly a productive Power Five starter who has NFL draft potential in the middle or end.
Hill is considered the icing on the cake for Mike Norvell’s recruiting class of 2021. The full list of FSU commitments and signatories is available Here.
