Watson has thrown several touchdown passes in the past six weeks and has compiled over 100 ranked passer games in the same period. Cooks was impressed with how Watson played winning football, although the team didn’t exactly reflect that with a 2-6 record.
“You’re talking about a guy who’s been consistent and special week after week,” Cooks said. “With everything that’s going on, it’s a shame because our record doesn’t show it, but he’s a guy who comes to play every Sunday. My expectations are exactly what I thought they would be and that is playing with a special quarterback.
2. Cooks trusts Duke Johnson

Johnson will be the starting running back against the Cleveland Browns while starter David Johnson will be injured. Cooks has seen enough of Duke Johnson to know he can carry the load in Cleveland.
“He’s sneaky,” Cooks said. “As a rule, the first man does not drop him. Being able to make guys miss the way he does is really great to watch.
Johnson added 16 carries for 41 yards and a touchdown to relieve David Johnson in the 27-25 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars last week.
3. Cooks considers Will Fuller an “assassin”

The Cooks can lead the Texans with 37 catches, but Fuller leads the team with 590 receiving yards and six touchdowns.
The former New Orleans Saint, New England Patriot and Los Angeles Ram saw Fuller play more confidently throughout the first eight games of the regular season.
“He played very confident, very consistent,” Cooks said. “He’s on fire and you love to see that from your teammates.”
What emerges from Cooks in Fuller’s game is that the former Notre Dame 2016 first-round pick doesn’t make much noise, despite having the talent and production of a wide receiver. ° 1.
“I think how he’s not a guy who talks a lot,” Cooks said. “He’s very calm. He is like a silent assassin. He doesn’t say too much but goes out there and he does his job and he does it to a high standard. All you can do is respect that.
4. Taking one day at a time means one win at a time

The Texans have a huge hole to go at 2-6. The pressure to win four games at once is on them every week, and the doubt of getting to .500 at the end of the season has to be a cloud of rain hanging over their heads.
Cooks believes the secret to getting out of trouble is winning every day.
“I think the most important thing is to keep hoping that we already have to go out there,” Cooks said. “At the end of the day, just focus on one day at a time and one game at a time. If we can do that, if we look to the future and look back and have done that, I think it sets us up to do something special.
