43-inch 144-Hz game monitor with FreeSync and DisplayHDR 1000

Acer unveiled its new widescreen gaming display (LFGD) that combines ultra-high definition resolution, a 144 Hz refresh rate with AMD's FreeSync technology, VESA's DisplayHDR 1000 certification and multiple inputs for connect a PC and several game consoles. The Predator CG437K P monitor is intended for hard-working players who want not only a high refresh rate, but also a huge size.

The Acer Predator CG437KP is based on a 43-bit 8-bit + FRC VA panel with a resolution of 3840 × 2160, a brightness of up to 1000 nits, a high contrast ratio (if it is a VA panel, we are probably talking about 2000: 1 or better), a slow response time, a maximum refresh rate of 144 Hz, viewing angles of 178 ° / 178 °, etc. The monitor can display 1.07 billion colors and covers 90% of the DCI-P3 color gamut.

To take advantage of a resolution of 3840 × 2160 at a refresh rate of 144 Hz, players will need to connect the Predator CG437K P with the help of two DisplayPort cables to avoid any compression or reduction downsampling of chrominance. In addition to two DisplayPort inputs, the monitor has three HDMI inputs and a USB Type-C input (supporting up to 30 W of the supplied power) to connect game consoles as well as laptops modern. Meanwhile, the monitor has a built-in four-port USB hub (2.0 + 3.0) and two additional 10W speakers.

The main selling point of the Predator CG437KP is the combination of its size, resolution, brightness and refresh rate. There are only a few ultra-high definition widescreen displays offering a refresh rate of 144 Hz on the market. Acer will propose a rather unique product.

The monitor also has a light sensor and a proximity sensor to automatically adjust its luminance according to the ambient lighting or even mitigate it when the user is absent . In the meantime, since the monitor is within four to five months of commercial launch, Acer does not seem to disclose all of its features and capabilities yet. For example, the monitor currently only has the AMD FreeSync brand, but at first glance it seems to have everything in place to support AMD's FreeSync 2, which would be another major selling point.
