49ers-Eagles count: Arik Armstead is second in NFL in 28.2% pressure rating

The 49ers found a way to win a tough game on the road after a slow start. That’s what good teams do. Now, at 2-0, the fun begins. First, let’s take a look at how many San Francisco snaps since their Week 2 win over the Eagles.

Offense – 70 possible snaps

• For the second week in a row, the starting offensive line has played every snap
• Mike McGlinchey gave two pushes in two games
• No Trey Lance this week, but no Lance is better than the Lance gimmick
• Brandon Aiiyuk played and played well. Sometimes he felt like he was a decoy. I focused on Aiyuk during the match, and his effort was huge. Expect him to be a focal point for the future

• Garoppolo’s three 13-yard runs didn’t seem like much, but every time he put the ball in his pocket, Garoppolo dodged a sack. This was the highlight of his game for two weeks

Defense – 58 games possible

• Anytime your defense plays less than 65 games in an NFL game, things have gone well
• I can’t say enough about high school. Effort. Physical. Good eyes. Finishing games. They were a pleasant surprise
• Thanks to the depth on the outside, the Niners can afford to play Ford 28 percent of the time – with most of them coming on obvious drops.
• Bosa playing 76% of the snaps tells you that there are no restrictions and that his body is responding well. Plus, being dominant doesn’t hurt.
• You can say the same of Kinlaw who plays 72% of the snaps. Going forward, that’s what the 49ers need from their old top-15 pick. Kinlaw’s blocked goal is what we’ll remember, but he clogged the running lanes and did a good job the entire game.
• In two games, and I know he doesn’t have the same sack total as Bosa, but Armstead was the 49ers’ best defenseman. He is second in the NFL in pressure percentage at 28.8%. Armstead has been remarkable. Look at Bosa’s first bag and see what Armstead did in the center. It’s a monster.
• Kevin Givens played so little that he suffered a sprained ankle.
• Al-Shaair allowed 1.3 yards per target, a 56.2 passer rating and has yet to miss a tackle in 130 snaps. He’s the real deal, and it’ll be fun to watch him grow up as Al-Shaair plays alongside Fred Warner.
